Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
Meet your driver at Tangier port or airport and begin the journey to Chefchaouen, passing through the breathtaking Rif Mountains. Upon arrival, enjoy a free afternoon to wander the picturesque streets of the blue-and-white city. Overnight in a traditional local guesthouse or riad.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
Depart Chefchaouen in the morning, traveling south through the Rif Mountains. Stop at the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site with impressive ruins and mosaics. Continue to Meknes to admire the grand Bab el-Mansour gates and Moulay Ismail Tombs. After lunch, arrive in Fez for an overnight stay in the Medina.
Day 3: Fez Cultural Tour
Spend the day exploring Fez with a local guide. Wander the medina’s narrow streets, visit the Royal Palace gates, historic Jewish quarter, Al Karaouine University, traditional tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and Moulay Idriss mausoleum. Overnight in the medina, soaking in the city’s rich culture.
Day 4: Fez – Azrou Cedar Forest – Midelt – Merzouga
Travel south through Ifrane, nicknamed “Little Switzerland” for its European-style architecture and alpine climate. Continue through the Middle Atlas, stopping at Azrou’s cedar forests to meet wild Barbary macaques. After lunch in Midelt, journey via Ziz Valley and Erfoud to Merzouga, arriving at your hotel near the dunes by afternoon.
Day 5: Merzouga – Camel Trek and Desert Camp
Begin the day with a visit to Khamlia village to meet the Gnawa people and experience their music. Enjoy lunch before heading into the desert for a camel trek lasting about 90 minutes, leading to a desert camp in the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Witness a spectacular sunset, enjoy stargazing, a traditional dinner, and Berber drum performances before an overnight stay in the camp.
Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake early for a magical sunrise over the dunes before returning to Merzouga on camelback. After breakfast and a shower, travel through Rissani, Tinghir, and the Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs and dramatic canyons await. Continue through the Dades Valley, exploring rock formations known as “monkey toes.” Overnight in a traditional guesthouse.
Day 7: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate
Drive through the scenic Dades Valley and Rose Valley, known for fragrant rosewater production (seasonal). Stop at Skoura to visit Kasbah Amridil, a well-preserved historic fortress. Continue to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Hollywood of Africa” for its film studios. Overnight in a local guesthouse or riad.
Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Travel from Ouarzazate to Marrakech, stopping at the historic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous film location. Pass briefly by Ouarzazate’s movie studios before crossing the Tizi N’Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Marrakech by afternoon and enjoy a free evening to explore.
Day 9: Marrakech Sightseeing
Discover Marrakech on a guided tour, including the Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and the bustling Jemaa el-Fna square. Stroll through vibrant souks and visit the Majorelle Garden. Spend the evening at leisure in the city.
Day 10: Departure from Marrakech
