Day 1: Marrakech → High Atlas Mountains → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley

The tour begins with an early departure from Marrakech, heading into the High Atlas Mountains. As you ascend the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, panoramic views of valleys, winding roads, and Berber villages create the perfect backdrop for photo stops.

By late morning, you reach Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous ksar and a UNESCO-protected site. Its impressive clay architecture has appeared in many international films. After exploring the fortified village, the road continues through Ouarzazate and into the Valley of Roses, celebrated in spring for its vibrant blossoms and rose-derived products.

As the day ends, you arrive in the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic cliffs and winding gorges. Dinner and overnight in a local guesthouse.

Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga → Sahara Desert Camp

After breakfast, the route leads to the impressive Todra Gorge. The canyon’s sheer cliffs rise nearly 300 meters high, creating one of Morocco’s most striking natural landmarks. A short walk along the stream at the base of the gorge allows you to take in its beauty.

The journey continues through oasis towns and the desert plains of Tinjdad and Erfoud. Along the way, you’ll see traditional irrigation systems known as khettaras, reminders of ancient desert engineering. By afternoon, the scenery shifts as you reach the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi near Merzouga.

Here, you trade your vehicle for a camel and set out across the dunes. The slow trek toward camp is perfectly timed for a spectacular sunset. At your desert camp, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, music by the fire, and stargazing under the vast desert sky. Overnight in a nomadic-style tent.

Day 3: Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Middle Atlas → Fes

Wake early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, an unforgettable highlight of the Sahara. After breakfast, the journey continues north through the lush Ziz Valley, whose endless palm groves stretch along the river.

Driving into the Middle Atlas Mountains, you’ll pass cedar forests near Azrou, home to playful Barbary macaques. Stops along the way allow time for photos, coffee, and to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Later, the road leads through the charming town of Ifrane, often nicknamed the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and clean streets.

By late afternoon, you arrive in Fes, where the tour ends with drop-off at your accommodation.
