Day 1 : Arrival in Agadir
Pick-up from the airport and transfer into the city to begin your Moroccan adventure.
Day 2 : Agadir – Taroudant – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, head through the Atlas foothills, stopping at Taroudant, often nicknamed “Little Marrakech,” and Taliouine, known for its saffron production. Continue through Taznakht, a center for handmade carpets, before reaching the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous film location. Journey onward to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Overnight in the city.
Day 3 : Ouarzazate – Valley of Roses – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga
Travel through the Valley of Roses and past the palm groves of Skoura before reaching the Todra Gorges. Take a walk through its towering cliffs before continuing via Berber villages toward Erfoud, known for its fossils. From here, arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll ride camels into the dunes of Erg Chebbi to watch the sunset. End the evening with dinner, music, and stargazing in the desert.
Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate
Wake up early to admire sunrise over the dunes before returning to meet your driver. Continue to Rissani, once a key trading post on the Saharan caravan route, with a market that remains lively today. Cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains and pass through Berber villages before driving along the Draa Valley, home to endless palm groves and kasbahs. Arrive in Ouarzazate for the night.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
After breakfast, head north through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,280 m). Along the way, stop for panoramic views and see traditional Berber homes clinging to the mountainsides. Arrive in Marrakech, the “Red City.”
Day 6: Marrakech Guided Tour
Spend the day discovering the wonders of Marrakech with a local guide. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia and Badi Palaces, Saadian Tombs, and the colorful Majorelle Garden. Explore the bustling souks and end the day in Jemaa El-Fnaa Square, with its storytellers, musicians, and food stalls.
Day 7: Marrakech – Essaouira
Travel to Essaouira, passing through argan oil cooperatives where you can see how this local product is traditionally made. Along the way, you might spot goats perched on argan trees. In Essaouira, explore the Portuguese ramparts of the Skala, stroll through the historic medina, visit the port, and enjoy free time by the beach.
Day 8: Essaouira – Agadir
After breakfast, drive along the Atlantic coast back to Agadir, where your 8-day journey concludes.
